On location:

I have been playing in bands and recording music for 20 years. I play in bands such as Sebadoh, and The Fiery Furnaces, and have have played with heavies such as Will Oldham, Richard Buckner and David Kilgour.

My gear is fully mobile and I have found that bringing my gear to the artist, and / or setting up a unique recording situation outside of a typical recording studio is often the way to get the best results. I have brought my stuff to garages, lake houses, bathrooms, hallways, livingrooms, closets, and 'real' recording studios.

In this day and age, with the compact and transprtable nature of great sounding recording gear it is often not desirable, necessary,or realistic to go into a traditional recording studio. Fantastic results come from making recordings in a comfortable setting, not in an off-putting music hospital where the ticking of the clock becomes a death mantra of your creative energies.
